A lawyer named Sunday Ununu did something terrible. He killed a young boy called Nnamdi Nwite Ugo. This happened in Abakaliki, a place in Ebonyi State.
Ugo was killed during a big celebration. The people in Izzi Unuphu were having an election. They were choosing new leaders to take care of matters about their land.
This group, Izzi Unuphu Power of Attorney, looks after lands in their area. They make sure no one wrongly takes or sells their land.
At the election, people were voting for their new leaders. Sunday Ununu, who works with the group, started shooting his gun to celebrate his friend’s win.
Sadly, one of the bullets hit Ugo. It hit him in the nose and went through his mouth. Ugo died right away.
Ugo was an orphan, meaning he had no mom or dad. He also had no close family. Sadly, no one is really talking about what happened, except some distant relatives of the lawyer and Ugo. They might even be trying to cover it up by paying these relatives to stay quiet.
There is a video of the celebration and the shooting. In the video, you can see Ununu in a yellow T-shirt firing his gun into the air. This video is spreading on social media.
The police in Ebonyi State know about the incident. Their spokesman, DSP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed to the press that Ununu has been arrested. He said, “I know what happened and he is with us. But I don’t know all the details.”
