Naja’atu Salisu, a 300-level Computer Science student at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, fainted in the bathroom on Friday morning.
Naja’atu went to the bathroom in the female hostel at the Gubi campus of the university to take her morning shower and get ready for her classes. Later, she was found lying on the bathroom floor, not moving.
One of her roommates, who did not want to be named, said, “She had done her usual morning routine and put out the clothes she planned to wear to class next to her bed.”
ATBU spokesperson Zailani Bappa said that Naja’atu was quickly taken to the university’s clinic, but doctors there couldn’t find a vein to help her.
She was then moved to the Trauma Centre at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital. Sadly, the doctors there said she had passed away.
Zailani Bappa also mentioned that Naja’atu was buried according to Islamic traditions and prayers were offered for her.
