Nollywood star, Binta Ayo Mogaji, also known as Mama Insurance, shared her story about having her first child when she was 40.
On the ‘Talk To B’ podcast, she talked about a difficult time when she had surgery to remove one of her fallopian tubes because of an ectopic pregnancy.
Even with just one fallopian tube, she had her baby the natural way.
She remembered that she was ready to adopt a child if she didn’t have her own by the age of 40.
She was happy to give birth to her son just a few weeks after turning 40.
At that time, she did not want to get married, and the father of her son also did not want to get married.
The actress said, “Sadly, the pregnancy was ectopic. They took me to seven different hospitals. The doctor said he didn’t think I could make it until the next day. The surgery took about seven to nine hours. My friends who visited me in the hospital were crying.
“The doctors had to take out one fallopian tube. But I have one and I had my baby naturally.
“I stopped looking for a husband; I just wanted to have a baby. I said if I don’t have a baby by the time I am 40, I will adopt one.
“[My partner] Jibola came into my life just before I turned 40, and I had my baby six weeks after I turned 40. He didn’t want to get married either.”
