Tolu Arokodare is a soccer player for KRC Genk. He really wants to play for the Nigeria national team one day.
This season, Tolu has been playing very well for his team, the Smurfs. He has been scoring goals, which is helping his team do well in the Belgian Pro League.
Tolu is 23 years old and has scored six goals in just 10 games for Genk.
Even though he is doing great, he hasn’t been asked to play for Nigeria yet.
The coach of the Super Eagles, Augustine Eguavoen, did not pick Tolu for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya in 2025.
But Tolu thinks his chance will come soon.
He said, “We have many good players in our team. I know I have not been called by the NFF yet, but I believe if I keep playing well and doing the right things, they will notice me. It’s not my turn yet, and those who got chosen before me deserve it. I just need to be patient and work hard.”
