The Nigerian army has reported that its troops from sector 7 Operation Safe Have have arrested the murderers of Reverend Father Sylvester Okechukwu, who was killed after being kidnapped in the Aldea de Tachira, the area of the local Government of Kaduna of the state of Kaduna.
Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, media information officer of Operation Safe Haven, declared in a statement that the suspects were arrested on March 25, 2025 after a raid in the hiding place of the main suspect, located in Ruga Settlement in Warsa-Piti Village, Lere Lere of the state of Kaduna.
It was reported that during preliminary investigation, the main suspect, Pate Yau, 33, confessed to having been hired by a Douglas Henry, who lived in the same house as the murdered priest, to kidnap him.
The troops, in a monitoring operation, arrested Douglas Henry in Agwan Sariki Tachira in Kaura Lga of the State. The arrested suspects are currently in custody, experiencing more interrogations.
