According to reports, no less than 10 people lost their lives in an attack of assailants not yet identified in the Ruwi village, area of the Bokkos local government of the State of Plateau, during a awakening.
Daily Post met a source, which wanted to remain anonymous, which took place an attack around the Ruwi of Bokkos Lga.
“Up to ten Ruwi bodies are currently in a hospital in Bokkos as a result of the attack,” Daily Post told the source.
Meanwhile, the State Police of Plateau, through its public relations officer, Alfred Albo, confirmed that an attack took place in the village on Thursday night, but did not provide a number of victims.
Albo declared: “The Police Commissioner of the State of Plateau, Emmanuel Adesina, wishes to express his deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of the deceased and all the people of the state after the unfortunate incident that occurred on the night of March 27, 2025 in the village of Ruwi.”
According to him: “On March 27, 2025, around 10:00 pm, the command received a report from some unknown armed thugs that invaded Ruwi village at approximately 9:20 pm and began to shoot sporadically.
“As a result, some respectful citizens of the community's law who attended a maintenance to cry the death of their loved ones tragically lost their lives, while others suffered varying degrees of injuries.
“Upon receiving the report, the police commissioner immediately ordered the Divisional Police officer of the Bokkos Division to mobilize and display the officers on the scene for the necessary action.”
In addition, he explained: “The police commissioner also deployed additional labor and operational assets of the State headquarters to Bokkos and their surrounding local government areas.
“In addition, he directed the commander of the Pankshin area to relocate his base in Bokkos for strict supervision of all operations and avoid recurrence of such unfortunate incidents until normality is completely restored.
