Gunmen took 20 medical students from the University of Maiduguri, the University of Jos, and a House Officer. They want N50 million before letting them go.

The students got kidnapped on Thursday night while traveling on the Otukpo-Enugu Highway in Benue State.

The Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students (FCMDS) shared the full names of the kidnapped students on Friday night. This was confirmed by the Benue State Police Command.

According to Benue Police Spokesperson SP. Catherine Anene, the students were in two buses. Some criminals stopped them after Otukpo town and took them to an unknown place.

On Saturday, one of the students, Kwaghaondo Aondona Kingsley, told everyone about their situation on his X account.

Kingsley said the group had not eaten for two days. He asked the government and families for help to get them out quickly.

“We were kidnapped while going to Enugu for a convention,” Kingsley wrote. “They want N50 million for 20 of us medical students.

“Please help us; we haven’t eaten for two days. Contact Pius at 08163420157 — he is handling the funds.

“They said they would start killing us tomorrow,” Kingsley said.
