Five people were sadly killed by gunmen in Egwuma, a community in Benue. These gunmen are believed to be herdsmen.
Sources told DAILY POST that the attack happened on Sunday afternoon.
A local person, who wanted to stay anonymous for safety reasons, said the attackers were herdsmen. They came to the village around 2 pm and started the attack.
The anonymous source also said, “Youths went into the bush and found five dead bodies of villagers.”
Now, the young men in the community have come together to protect their village. They have also informed the police and other security agencies.
As of now, the attack is still happening in Egwuma.
When the police were called, Benue State Police Spokesperson, SP Catherine Anne, said she had not yet received information about the incident.
