APC Turmoil: Zamfara Faction Secretary Foresees Party’s Defeat in 2027

Must Read

The secretary of a group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Hon Mansur Khalifa Kaura, has warned that the same problems that made it hard to form a government in 2019 might happen again in 2027.

Kaura said in a statement in Gusau, the state capital, that the current problems within the party could lead to another failure in the 2027 general elections if not fixed soon.

He said, “It looks like the leaders of the APC in Zamfara State, such as Sen. Yari and Bello Muhammad Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, and their supporters, have not learned from past mistakes.

“The issues we have now in the party show that more trouble is likely to come for the APC in Zamfara in 2027 and even after.

“Unless the new Mega party is formed, maybe Yari, Matawalle, and their many supporters will join the new party.

“If the Mega party is created, no serious person will waste their time working for the APC in Zamfara State hoping to win an election.

“When Senator Kabir Marafa made predictions about the future of the Zamfara APC in 2019, many people did not understand him, but now his predictions of problems in the party are coming true, and there is no sign of fixing the issues.

“We think the problems of the Zamfara APC come from three main behaviors shown by the main leaders of the party, which have affected their many followers.

“First, there is ‘political arrogance’ where one leader thinks there will be no APC without him in Zamfara and believes he can do anything with money.

“Second, there is ‘childish behavior’ and a lack of seriousness from another leader who relies on luck instead of skill, but continues to control power within the party no matter what.

“Lastly, there are ‘blind followers,’ who are very poor and always give in to the threats from these two types of leaders because of money.”

According to Kaura, these behaviors explain what is happening with the Zamfara APC and why no one will take the party seriously unless they fall into the third group.
