The big political group called the All Progressives Congress (APC) believes they will soon have a strong presence in Rivers State.
The leader of this group, Abdullahi Ganduje, talked about this at a meeting in Abuja, which is a big city in Nigeria.
Ganduje said that the APC team in Rivers State will be fixed and made stronger so it can have a big impact there.
He spoke about this when Dawari Ibietela George, who tried to become governor with a different group called the Action Alliance (AA) in 2023, decided to come back and join APC.
They talked about how to make the APC in Rivers State better so it can help the people in the state and the whole country.
Ganduje said the party wants to include many different people and be fair to them all.
He said that having George join them is a big deal and that George is smart in politics. He thinks George will help make the APC stronger in Rivers State.
Ganduje welcomed George, promising that there will be a solid plan to include him and others who return to the party.
He said, “Rivers State will become a place where APC is strong. You are now just like every other member of the party. We want to make democracy grow bigger in the country.”
These comments are happening while there is a disagreement between the current governor, Sim Fubara, and the former governor, Nyesom Wike. Wike now works as a Minister in the capital for the APC government, and they are arguing about who controls the APC group in Rivers State.
