The leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sylvester Ezeokenwa, is asking all the party’s chairmanship and councillorship candidates in Anambra State to work really hard to win. There are 21 local government areas and 326 wards in the state.
Ezeokenwa made this call as the local government elections on September 28 are getting closer.
He said that the days of winning elections by cheating, or “rigging,” are over. He made it clear that APGA will not cheat to help anyone win. The party also won’t allow others to cheat either. Cheating in elections is something that belongs in the past and is no longer allowed.
He was speaking to party members at the Onitsha South Local Government Secretariat in Fegge. This was during the start of the campaign for the chairmanship of the party’s candidate, Chief Emeka Orji, and his partner, Onyebuchi Obi, as well as other councillorship candidates in the 17 wards.
Ezeokenwa said that APGA has no reason to lose in Onitsha South because it is a strong area for APGA. He gave the party flag to Emeka Orji and told him to keep it high. Ezeokenwa said, “We have worked hard for APGA and we will continue to do so. We begin our journey with 17 out of 17 in Onitsha South, which is an area we control. And I must say again, APGA will not cheat for anyone.”
