The voting for the local government election in Anambra State has started in many places, but some areas are still waiting for officials and materials to arrive.
In Amikwo Ward 6, located in Awka South Local Government Area, everything was going well when the DAILY POST reporter came.
However, there were no security officers or voting booths present.
Obikwere Joy, the main officer in charge, said that 1,883 people were registered to vote there.
She mentioned that voting began around 10 am.
People who came to vote told DAILY POST they were happy with how things were going.
One voter, Mr. Ebuka Nna, said: “We are pleased with the voting. There has been no violence.”
On the other hand, in Odoagba Ward 11, Polling Unit One, only two voters were sitting under a tent, waiting, because the ANSIEC officials had not yet arrived.
