The Congress candidate of all progressives (APC) for the government elections of the State of Anambra will arise through indirect primaries.
The national secretary of the party, Senator surjudeen Ajibola Bashiru revealed Thursday while informing journalists about the deliberations of the National Labor Committee meeting.
The checks revealed that, under the Constitution of APC, its candidate for elective offices could arise through direct and indirect primary and consensus.
The National Secretary of APC also revealed that a meeting has been set for Tuesday to sensitize the interested party of the party in the state of Southeast about the justification for the adoption of the indirect primary mode.
He said that the decision of the APC National Secretariat would be transmitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“Our meeting also considered the processes in the current Government's elections of Anambra, which is scheduled for November 8, 2025.
“The National Work Committee was aware of the fact that advertising had been made and it seems that the announcement was apparently projecting that the NWC had adopted the direct mode of primary school, but in reality, a positive resolution of the NWC had not been taken before today in terms of primary mode.

“In the NWC today it was taken into account now that it was formally decided that the way of emerging from the candidate for that election will be through indirect primaries. To take all interested parties, a meeting of interested parties with the State Work Committee, the State Caucus and the applicants will remain at the national headquarters of the party at 1 PM on Tuesday next week to take them.
“And the correspondence to this effect will be carried out to the Independent National Electoral Commission. Of course, there will be complementary advertising and public awareness in terms of primary mode and the new schedule adjusted in line with that decision, ”he said.
