The Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission, also known as ANSIEC, has released the final list of candidates for the upcoming Local Government Council elections happening on September 28. These elections will choose new chairmen and ward councilors.
Mrs. Genevieve Osakwe, who is the Chairperson of ANSIEC, shared the list at the Commission’s headquarters in Awka. She encouraged all the candidates on the list to start their campaigns.
Mrs. Osakwe said that the list is now available for everyone to see.
She invited people to visit the ANSIEC headquarters or any of the 21 local government offices if they want to check and see who is running for different positions.
“We want everyone who can vote to come out and pick the leaders they like best on election day,” she said.
“I also want to promise the people of Anambra that the election will be fair and everyone’s vote will count,” she added.
