Amotekun arrests suspected criminals in Ondo before Christmas

Must Read

The suspected criminals allegedly involved in robberies and car thefts were captured by operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps, and paraded at the agency headquarters.

While being paraded, the Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, accused the suspects of having destroyed the livelihoods of residents of the state.

According to Adeleye, two people were arrested for violating the law against open grazing, one incident in the Northern Senatorial District and another in the Central District.

“We want to put on record that in recent times there has been an increase in the destruction of farms by herders, which has caused tensions between farmers and herders,” he said.

“In one particularly disturbing case in the Central Senatorial District, herdsmen allegedly chased a landowner from her property, warning her not to return under threat of death.”

Adeleye also stressed that the herders occupied the building for six months, using it as a grazing and resting place for more than a thousand cows.
