Man Arrested for Hurting a Young Girl in Ekiti State

A 32-year-old man has been caught by the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps for harming a young girl in the state.

The Ekiti State Amotekun Corps shared the news in a statement signed by Officer Adeleye Abiodun Adewale from their Communication Department. This was given to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Thursday. They said the Amotekun Corps in Ifedara Local Council arrested the man, named Yakubu Maji, who lives in Are-Ekiti and comes from Kogi State. This happened on Monday, September 15, 2024.

The Head of Media from the Command explained that the suspect hurt the little girl, who is from Okene but lives in Are-Ekiti.

The young girl said she was sent on an errand by her mother. While running the errand, the man attacked her.

She also said the bad thing happened in the man’s room. He gave her money, about N300, to get her into his room.

The girl told that the man scared her with a cutlass and said she should not tell anyone what he did.

However, the girl’s mother said this is the second time her 10-year-old daughter was hurt by the same man.

The man has now been handed over to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Ekiti State Police Command in Ado-Ekiti for more investigation.
