The Yobe State Police has told everyone they caught a man named Usmanu Garba. He is 30 years old and is thought to be part of a bad group of people.
Police spokesman DSP Dungus Abdulkarim shared this news in a statement.
“On July 5, 2024, around 1 PM, our detectives from the State Intelligence Department (SID) caught Usmanu Garba from Katarko village in Gujba LGA. He was on his way to use the money he got from a kidnapping,” Abdulkarim said.
“Usmanu is part of a group of criminals who do bad things like stealing, kidnapping, and taking animals in Gujba LGA and nearby areas.
“This group recently kidnapped someone from Babaram Muktum, a village of Fulani people in Gujba. They asked the family for 1.6 million Naira to let the person go.
“They also stole the dad’s Techno phone,” Abdulkarim added.
He also said that other members of the group are hiding, but the police are working hard to catch them too.
