Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, from the State of Ondo, promised on Friday to deliver the state of all criminal elements, ensuring that he would do everything that would be within his power to guarantee security.
Speaking at a critical meeting of the interested parties held at the International Center for Culture and Events (The Dome) in Akure, Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed the commitment of its administration to protect lives and properties.
He said: “Let me clarify this: we will not allow Ondo State to become a refuge for criminals. While we welcome all Nigerians respectful of the law who wish to live and carry out legitimate businesses here, we will not tolerate people who disguise themselves as farmers while using our forests as hiding places for illegal activities such as kidnapping and other crimes.
“We will implement all the necessary resources to get them out of their hiding places.”
