The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed the meeting of its National Executive Committee (CNE) until November 28.
The meeting was originally scheduled for Thursday, October 24.
The Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, announced the postponement after a meeting of about four hours with the party's National Working Committee (NWC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) in Bauchi. Governors Lodge, Abuja, on Tuesday. evening.
Mohammed, who read the statement at the end of the meeting, said the decision to move the NEC meeting was aimed at giving the party more time to focus on the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State.
It was the third time the meeting would be changed. It was initially scheduled for August, but was later postponed to September and then to October 24.
He said: “From the consultative meeting of the different bodies of the Popular Democratic Party, PPD, the Party resolved the following:
“The meeting of the National Executive Committee, NEC, originally scheduled for October 24, 2024, has been rescheduled for November 28, 2024.”

“The postponement is to ensure that the party goes into the upcoming Ondo governorship election on November 16, 2024, with the unity and strength needed to topple the faltering government of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.
“Reiterating the need for unity in the face of efforts by detractors to divide the party, the meeting called on all members to avoid divisive statements that could undermine ongoing efforts to strengthen the party to effectively play its role as the country's main opposition. , in preparation for taking over in 2027.
