The Adamawa State Local Government Election Petitions Tribunal has received nine complaints about some elections for chairmen in the council areas.
These nine people, who mostly belong to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), are not happy with the election results that made some chairmen win.
All the chairmen for the 21 local government areas in the state, who were announced as winners after the July 13 election, are from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The people who have complained include Mohammed Jalo, Mustapha Yusuf, Abraham Innocent, Ja’afaru Umar, Khalled Yaro, and Zacharia Adamu Umar. All these people are ADC candidates for the Gombi, Song, Girei, Maiha, Mubi North, and Jada local government areas.
Two other people, Muhammed Lawan Bello and Shehu Inuwa, also from ADC, have complained. They were candidates for the Fufore and Yola North local government areas.
Another person who complained is Gamaliel Gandume from the Labour Party.
Gamaliel says that Kassa Dangi Shallom from the PDP, who was made chairman of Guyuk local government area, used a fake school certificate.
