Veteran Nollywood actress Stella Ikwuegbu has died.

Filmmaker Stanley Nwoko, also known as Stanley Ontop, broke the news on his Instagram page. He said the actress died on Sunday, June 16.

Stanley Ontop said the actress, known for her motherly roles in films, died after battling leg cancer.

Confirming the news, he wrote: “Actress and Nollywood veteran, Mrs. Stella Ikwuegbu has died. The veteran actress left this world today after battling leg cancer. Rest well, Mrs. Stella. Nollywood again. Alright.”

Furthermore, broadcaster Ijele Ozioma announced the death of the actress on Facebook.

She wrote: “Ukwu Gi Dia. Because? You overcame several accidents and everything. Eniure/Achiere came and in less than a week he killed you. I don’t feel well.

“Stella Ikwuegbu, today is Father’s Day. Why did you give us this gift on a day like this? Just because? Adieu, the great actress, she is extraordinary. Stella Ikwuegbu, you didn’t enjoy it at all.”

The late actress made her acting debut in 1990 and starred in several films including ‘Spoiler’, ‘Ukwa’, ‘Sound of Love’, ‘Holy Man’, ‘Two Hearts’, ‘Heart of Stone’, ‘Madam Koikoi ‘. , among others.

The Enugu-born actress was also a businesswoman.

A graduate of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu State, she opened her restaurant, ‘The Film Bar’, on August 1.

At press time, his age was unknown. She is survived by her husband, her children and grandchildren.

The actress’s death comes barely five days after veteran Yoruba actor Dayo Adewunmi, also known as Sule Suebebe, died at the age of 68.
