The Abia State Police Command has shown some people they caught for breaking the law in the state.
These people were shown to the public at the Abia Police Command headquarters on Friday. The police also showed all the items they took from these people to the news reporters.
Earlier, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Abia State Command, ASP Maureen Chinaka, spoke on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie. She said the police have been able to reduce some big crimes like armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, destroying government property, and child trafficking in the state.
ASP Maureen Chinaka said that the police arrested 142 men and 20 women for different crimes under the leadership of CP Kenechukwu Onwuemelie. The police also took away different types of guns, vehicles, railway parts, illegal drugs, and other stolen items.
The police also found Biafran and Mozambique currencies, a police camouflage cap, and other things the suspects had.
Moreover, the police said they safely rescued kids who were taken from their homes and many criminals have been taken to court and punished.
Some of the people caught by the police are Innocent Nwaeze (29 years), Uchenna Nwoko (32 years), Uzoma Erondo (44 years), Chinyere Nwaja (45 years), and Benjamin Ukaegbu (62 years). Others include Kingsley Emmanuel (22 years) and Atuloma Emmanuel (20 years).
One of them, named Amadikwa Chigozie from Imo State but living in Aba, admitted he stole a motorcycle but asked for forgiveness.
