Healthcare Budget Allocation for ISS in 2025: Proposal Submitted to Ebonyi State Government

Must Read

The Life Transformation for Africa group wants the government of Ebonyi State to put money in the 2025 budget for good Healthcare using Integrated Supportive Supervision (ISS).

They said not including help from private companies is making the state lose out on important resources.

The Program Manager, Mr. Chimezie Ezeani, shared this info on Saturday while talking to journalists in Abakaliki.

Ezeani explained that their program is supported by USAID and will run for five years, from October 2020 to October 2025, working with Nigeria Resource Partners (NRPs).

He mentioned that the budget for ISS in 2025 needs to be set and made available on time to oversee healthcare centers across the state.

He said, “Integrated Supportive Supervision (ISS) helps improve healthcare quality by providing proper supervision and sharing skills and knowledge with healthcare providers.

“ISS has been shown to make healthcare workers do their jobs better.

“Improving the healthcare system leads to better service, boosts performance, supports teamwork, and helps in solving problems.”

“Right now, the way Integrated Supportive Supervision (ISS) is set up is not very effective, and this limits its ability to work well across the healthcare sector.

“There’s not enough local financial support for ISS, and it relies too much on donations.

“Over the years, many health programs like TB and HIV have received a lot of funding from donors supporting ISS activities.

“Though donor support is helpful, it can’t last forever and it makes it hard for ISS to continue without it,” he added.
