Lagos State Government Collaborates with U.S. Institute to Boost Project Management Efficiency

Must Read

The Lagos State Government has teamed up with a U.S. group called Project Management Institute (PMI) to make project work better in 45 different state offices.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu watched the signing of this agreement at the State House in Marina on Tuesday.

The goal is to use resources smarter and finish the 1,830 ongoing projects in Lagos more smoothly. This plan will help make things better, cut down risks, and make life nicer for people living in Lagos by managing projects well.

Governor Sanwo-Olu said this partnership is very important now because the world economy is tough and building materials are expensive. We need to use our resources wisely and follow good plans to finish projects on time.

Sanwo-Olu said, “Leaders are having a hard time starting and finishing projects that help their people. With all the world changes and their impact on the economy, it’s hard to plan long-term projects. But we still have to make decisions in these tough times.”

“This partnership with PMI is perfect for checking our plans, sending resources where needed, and making sure our work is done quickly. This will help our offices work better and learn more about doing projects right. I believe this will boost skills and how we handle projects in the government.”

The agreement was signed by the Project Implementation and Monitoring Unit of the State Government and PMI’s team, led by Mr. George Asamani, the Managing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa. Asamani said this will bring new skills, knowledge sharing, and training to help Lagos finish projects well.

Mr. Olusegun Sanwo-Olu, the Governor’s helper on Projects, said PMI’s 50 years of experience will help manage projects better and build skills to meet high standards. He mentioned benefits like better project management to stay within budget, scope, and time.
