The police in Ekiti State have told everyone that Professor Femi Olaofe, who was kidnapped, is no longer alive. Professor Olaofe used to work at Ekiti State University as a deputy vice chancellor.
On Wednesday, the State Commissioner of Police, Adeniran Akinwale, talked to news reporters about this very sad news. He said they found Professor Olaofe’s body buried in a shallow grave.
The professor was taken away about three weeks ago from his house in Ado-Ekiti, and people heard about his death on Wednesday morning.
“Yes, the professor is dead, and we are trying our best to take his body out for a proper burial.
“We have arrested many people, and we believe that someone from inside, maybe the professor’s security guard, helped the kidnappers. The security guard was also taken by the kidnappers so that nobody would suspect him.
“While trying to save Professor Olaofe, we have arrested a few people. I can’t reveal much about the security guard now, but when the time is right, we will tell the public more,” Commissioner Akinwale said.
