Navy Captures 35 Illegal Oil Vessels in 7 Months – Chief of Naval Staff Reveals

Must Read

The Nigerian Navy caught more than 35 ships stealing oil from the country’s waters.

The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Adm. Emmanuel Ogalla, shared this news during a meeting with maritime stakeholders on Tuesday in Abuja.

Ogalla explained that the ships they caught were turned over to the right authorities for further action.

He mentioned that the Navy has improved its operations since January by starting “Operation Delta Sanity.” This operation helps keep the waters safe through surveillance, quick responses, and working together with other maritime groups.

The Naval chief promised everyone that the Navy is committed to making the waters safe for business and the country’s economic growth.

He also said the Navy tries to make sure their work doesn’t get in the way of other businesses. They aim to help businesses run smoothly and produce more.

“Providing security helps make doing business easier because if there’s no security, businesses can’t operate,” he said.

“We also ensure that when we make arrests, it doesn’t interfere with legitimate business operations,” he added.
