Tragic Accident: Three Cross River University Students Killed in Car Crash

Three students from Cross River State University have sadly died in a car crash. These students were going home because the school closed for two weeks. The school shut down to stop students from joining a big protest planned for August 1st.

The students were on a bus traveling to Ogoja, a town in the northern part of the state. The accident happened on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred near a town called Ikom. This town is in the middle part of the state, along the Calabar–Ikom highway.

An eyewitness named Ndoma Akunobor, who was also on the bus, said that the three students were studying Microbiology, Plant Science, and Biotechnology.

We do not yet know the names of the students.

The university had sent a notice to all students and staff. This notice said the school would be closed from July 30th to August 12th. This was done to prevent students from joining the nationwide protest on August 1st.
