Imo: Unidentified Gunmen Fatally Shoot Four Police Officers and a POS Operator

A few hours after the Imo State Police Commissioner, Mr. Aboki Danjuma, held an important meeting, some unknown attackers killed four police officers and a lady who worked at a POS (point of sale).

The Police Commissioner confirmed the sad news and told his special police units to work with other agencies to find the bad people who did this.

This sad event happened on Monday on the Owerri-Onitsha Expressway. The police were doing their usual patrol when the attackers surprised them.

A police spokesperson, ASP Henry Okoye, said in a press release that the four officers died in a gunfight with the attackers.

“When we heard about the sad event, the Commissioner of Police quickly went to the scene to check what happened. The dead bodies were taken to the morgue, and the injured person was taken to the hospital and is getting better,” the release explained.

The release also mentioned that the Police Commissioner felt very sad about the event and promised to catch the bad people who did this. He said these attackers had disturbed the peace in the area.

“This sad incident reminds us how police officers take big risks every day to keep us safe,” the Police Commissioner said.

Mr. Danjuma also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for their souls.
