Protest Erupts as Police Detain TikToker for Threatening Violent Acts

The Plateau State Police have announced the arrest of a young man named Suleiman Yakubu, who is known on TikTok as “Dam-Mallam68.” He was arrested for saying he would cause trouble for security officers during a planned protest.

In a video shared online, Suleiman was seen telling people to attack security officers in Plateau State. He also told people to set important buildings on fire during the August 1 protest.

The arrest was confirmed by the police spokesperson, DSP Alfred Alabo, on Sunday. Suleiman was caught in Jos North, thanks to a tip from a reliable source.

After being taken into custody, Suleiman admitted that he was the one in the video.

In response, the Commissioner of Police has said that they will not allow anyone to cause trouble in Plateau State.

He emphasized that peace must be kept before, during, and after the protest.

Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, also asked the people of Plateau State to follow the law and avoid making statements that might disrupt peace and security in the area, the statement concluded.
