Edo: I Return to APC to Avert My Political Destruction – Philip Shaibu

Must Read

Philip Shaibu, who was put back in his job as Deputy Governor of Edo State, said he has gone back to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Shaibu explained he returned to the APC because some people tried to harm his chances of becoming governor.

He said that with God’s help, he stayed strong even when he had trouble with Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Shaibu talked about this over the weekend at a meeting of the Afemai World Congress in Detroit, Michigan, USA.

He promised his support to the APC candidate for governor, Monday Okpebholo.

Shaibu believes that Okpebholo would be a better governor than Asue Ighodalo, the candidate from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who is supported by Obaseki.

He said, “Elections are coming up, and I want you to care about them. You see, I moved from PDP back to APC.

“I moved to PDP because of the governor (Obaseki), and I am back in APC because of the governor.”

“I wanted to become the governor, but they said they would ruin me if I kept trying. They tried many things, but God kept me safe.

“I was removed from my job, but I knew I would come to this event as the deputy governor. Now, I am back in my position, and my removal was part of the threats and bullying I faced. We need to start finding ways to save our country.”
