PDP Halts Delegate Congress in Kogi Amid Allegations of Irregularities

Must Read

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has stopped their delegate meetings in all 239 areas of Kogi State because of some problems.

On July 27, 2024, the Chairman of the party’s Caretaker Committee, Senator Laah Dajuma, wrote a letter to explain what happened.

In the letter to the Electoral Commissioner in Kogi State, Senator Dajuma said, “We wanted to tell you about an issue that happened during our delegate meetings in Kogi state. One of our members, Dr. Boyelayefa Dabekeme, noticed something very wrong.”

The letter further explained, “On July 27, 2024, the officers who came to run the meetings brought people pretending to be official returning officers. These people were supposed to come from Nasarawa State, FCT, Imo, and Kano State.”

Senator Dajuma added, “Because of this, the whole process was not fair and did not follow the rules. So, we canceled the meetings. Thank you for looking into this quickly. We will inform you of the new date for the meetings once we fix things.”
