Two very upset brothers have done something terrible in Kiyawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State. They hurt their younger brother and their dad.
Neighbors shared with DAILY POST that the trouble started when the two brothers accused their younger brother of using magic or witchcraft. They got very angry and hit him with sticks. When their dad tried to save their brother, they hurt him too.
The police spokesperson, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed what happened.
He said, “On July 25, 2024, at around 12:30 in the afternoon, we got information about a serious incident in Garkon Alli village in Kiyawa. Two men, Haruna Idi and his 80-year-old father, Idi Hassan, were attacked with sticks and got seriously hurt.
“As soon as we knew, police officers from Kiyawa Division went to the place where it happened and took the hurt people to Rashid Shekoni Teaching Hospital in Dutse for care.
“Sadly, Haruna Idi passed away from his injuries. His dad, who has broken bones in his hand and leg, is still in the hospital getting help.”
DSP Shiisu Adam told us that the first investigation showed that the people who did this were Ahmadu Idi, 45, and Sale Idi, 25. They are from the same village. They hurt their brother because they thought he was doing witchcraft.
He added that the brothers also hurt their own dad when he tried to help the younger brother.
DSP Shiisu Adam said that the police arrested the two brothers. They are now in jail while the police continue to investigate what happened.
He mentioned that after the investigation is finished, the brothers will go to court.
