The Nasarawa Youth Empowerment Agency (NAYEA) has decided to pause the job of their State Commander, Idris Isa Daniya, for three months. During this time, he won’t get paid. This decision was made because he was involved in a situation where two people, suspected of stealing motorcycles, escaped from where they were being held in Lafia.
NAYEA sent a letter saying this suspension is effective right away. The letter was signed by Abdullahi Yahaya Mohammed, the officer in charge of administration, on behalf of the General Manager.
The letter, dated July 24, 2024, instructed Daniya to hand over all his responsibilities and office keys to the Admin Department.
The General Manager of NAYEA, Mr. Abdullahi Bala, has chosen Mohammed Hamidu Lamino to take over as Acting State Commander while Daniya is suspended.
This issue started a few weeks ago when workers from NAYEA, which used to be called Nasarawa Youth Empowerment Scheme (NAYES), caught two people stealing motorcycles at a famous restaurant in Lafia, called Lavista.
Unfortunately, the suspects managed to run away a short time after they were caught.
According to the DAILY POST, the agency quickly acted on Monday, July 22, and caught one of the suspects again. The suspect, named Mr. Abdullahi Mohammed, later admitted that a member of his family gave a bribe of N50,000 to a NAYEA staff to help them escape.
