Mr. Ganiu Aganran, who is the Coordinator for NAPTIP in Benin, shared this news on Wednesday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin.

He mentioned that the couple, Adesuwa Otabor and Otabor Idahosa, received a five-year prison sentence for planning to commit human trafficking.

The High Court, Criminal Division 2, in Benin City, found them guilty of sending a victim to Dubai for prostitution.

He noted that what they did was against Section 27 of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015.

Aganran explained that this success is part of NAPTIP’s mission to catch and punish top human traffickers.
