The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Mr. Bola Oluwole, the party chairman in Emure Local Government. They said he stole money, behaved badly, and used party money the wrong way.
In Ikere Ekiti, Chief Akindele Akinbobola, the APC Chairman in Ekiti North, and Mr. Afuye Oluwaseun, the Secretary, explained this decision. They said a group of seven people looked into the problem and suggested the suspension.
They have now told Mr. Oluwole to give all party belongings to Mr. Gabriel Monday Omoniyi, the Vice Chairman in Emure Local Government. Mr. Omoniyi will take over for now, following APC rules.
The statement said, “Remember, on July 1, 2024, the acting State Chairman met with the party’s senatorial committee. They talked about the accusations against you, Mr. Oluwole. A seven-person group was formed to investigate these issues and report back.”
The group has given their findings to the State Acting Chairman and senatorial members. Based on their report, we direct that all APC materials and properties should be handed over to the Vice Chairman in Emure Local Government, who will be acting in the role for now, as per article 9.5 of the APC constitution.”
Some party members had earlier held a peaceful protest at the party office in Ado Ekiti. They wanted Mr. Bola Oluwole suspended because they believed he took palliative materials and was too bossy, among other things.
When asked over the phone, Mr. Bola Oluwole said he has not received any suspension letter yet.
