Gabby Agbonlahor Questions Erik ten Hag’s Premier League Ranking
Former Aston Villa captain, Gabby Agbonlahor, disagrees with Erik ten Hag’s claim that he is almost as good as Manchester City’s coach, Pep Guardiola.
In a recent chat, the Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, said he is the second-best coach in the Premier League.
Ten Hag talked about his successes at Manchester United, saying he won two important trophies, the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, since he started in July 2022.
He also mentioned that his team defeated big clubs like Manchester City and Liverpool, showing that they can win big games often.
But, in a discussion on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said, “Where do you start? Some of his interviews after games were crazy, weren’t they?”
He added, “Manchester United finished eighth, which is their worst place in over 30 years. They let in 83 goals last season, the most in their history.”
Gabby did give some credit to Manchester United’s 2-1 win against Manchester City in the FA Cup final. He said, “Just stats. That’s all he brings… I will give them credit, in that final they played very well, they looked like an organized team for once… But, like you said, it’s just covering up the problems.”
