Fola David, who lives in Lagos, wanted to create a huge artwork that shows Nigeria’s rich cultures. He started this big project on July 16 at Onikan Stadium, planning to draw 1000 square metres.

On Friday night, Fola posted on social media: “We did it! On Day 4 at 9 pm, we beat the old record of 629.98 square metres, but we’re not stopping yet! Our goal is to cover more than 1000 square metres, and right now, we have done 689 square metres. Let’s keep going!”

Many important Nigerians came to see Fola’s work. Some visitors were Peter Obi, who ran for president in 2023; Hilda Baci, a previous record holder; and Farooq Oreagba, who was a star at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival.

The University of Lagos College of Medicine also came to cheer for Fola. He studied there, and they are very proud of him.
