Manchester United’s coach, Erik ten Hag, wants Amad Diallo to do better this season after having tough times at the club.
Ten Hag chatted with MUTV after Diallo scored in a 2-0 win against Rangers during a friendly game before the season starts.
Diallo, who is 22 years old, has only played 21 real matches for Manchester United since he joined from Atalanta three years ago.
He has been loaned to other teams like Rangers and Sunderland. Now, he wants to be part of Ten Hag’s main team.
“We need to think about Amad differently,” Ten Hag said.
“Yes, he is still young, but he now has more experience. Last season, he had bad injuries and was out. But, before that, he did really well in the Championship. Near the end of last season, he played well with our main team. Now, this season is important for him.”
“It’s great that he started like this. On Monday, he couldn’t play because he wasn’t allowed to go to Norway. But today, he played and did a very good job.”
