Nigerian afrobeats star, Damini Ogulu, known to everyone as Burna Boy, has made history as the first African artist to get two billion streams in the United Kingdom.
Burna Boy got a special award called a Brit plaque for this achievement. The award was given to him during his sold-out concert at Koko Camden in London on Monday night. This is an amazing success because, just a few weeks ago, he received another Brit plaque for reaching one billion streams at his sold-out London Stadium show.
As he accepted the Brit 2 billion streams plaque, Burna Boy said he put in a lot of effort to reach this milestone.
He expressed his gratitude by saying, “Thank you very much. I appreciate you. You have to fight for your right.”
One of the award presenters commented, “You already have it. You don’t need to fight.”
Burna Boy responded, “No. You know, we have to fight for our rights.”
