Lagos Police Arrest Man for Stealing Uber Car
On Saturday, the Lagos State Police caught a man who tricked an Uber driver and stole his car.
The news was shared by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson.
On July 5th around 8:00 PM, an Uber driver told the Akinpelu Police Department about a problem. The driver said he picked up a passenger named Isaiah from an NNPC gas station in Maryland. He was driving a Toyota Corolla car and took Isaiah to a hotel in Oshodi.
At the hotel, Isaiah bought the driver some food and a drink. Then, he asked for a cotton bud to clean his ear. The driver gave Isaiah his car key so he could look for one.
But guess what? Isaiah took the car key, went downstairs, and drove away with the car!
Later, police were doing a stop-and-search on Boladale Street when they stopped Isaiah. He couldn’t explain how the car was his, so they arrested him.
While the police were about to take Isaiah to the station, the Uber driver showed up and saw his car. The police have kept Isaiah in custody to learn more about what happened.
