Some bad people took Dr. Emmanuel Barki, the acting head of Benue Polytechnic in Ugbokolo, and three workers from the school.
Dr. Barki, two school managers, and their driver were going back to Ugbokolo after a work trip to Makurdi, the state’s main city. Bad people stopped them on the Otukpo-Otukpa Road on Thursday.
The DAILY POST said that one of the people taken was let go because they were sick.
Someone who knows Dr. Barki’s family said the bad people called and asked for a huge amount of money—70 million Naira—to let them go.
Catherine Anene, who speaks for the police, said, “Yes, it happened and we are looking into it.”
The state governor’s security advisor, Joseph Har, also said it happened. He said, “I don’t know if they asked for money, but security men are searching the bushes to find them.”
