American actress and TV host, Ellen DeGeneres, says she is stepping away from the spotlight after finishing her last performances for a Netflix special.

The 66-year-old comedian announced that she was “finished” with being famous.

“This is the last time you’ll see me. After my Netflix special, I’m through,” she said during a recent show on her “Ellen’s Last Stand…Up” tour at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa.

A fan asked her to voice the character Dory from Pixar’s ‘Finding Nemo’ and ‘Finding Dory’ again. Ellen replied, “No, I’m saying goodbye, remember?”

Ellen also talked about the bad behavior accusations against her show, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which ended after reports about racism, sexual misconduct, and bullying behind the scenes.

“I can be demanding, impatient, and tough. I’m a strong woman. I’m many things, but I am not mean,” she said.

“I used to say, ‘I don’t care what people say about me.’ Now I realize I said that when I was very popular.”
