The police in Cross River State have caught 20 people who did bad things.
The police spokesperson, Irene Ugbo, said they caught these people over the past four months.
She spoke at the police headquarters in Calabar on Wednesday. She said these people did different bad things like kidnapping, hurting others, stealing, being in secret gangs, and having guns they should not have.
She also said that the police are working hard with community leaders and the government to keep the state safe from crime.
Ugbo asked everyone to help and support the police because they need everyone’s effort to make the place safe.
“I want to also ask the media to always tell the truth. Their job is very important in giving people the right information,” she added.
“Out of the 20 people caught, 14 did bad things like being in a gang, hurting others, and stealing. These 14 people have been taken to court. The others will be taken to court soon,” Ugbo said.
She listed the things they found with the bad people, which included phones, laptops, homemade guns, charms, and marijuana among other things.
