The government of Kwara State promises that the Ilorin Township Stadium will be ready before the 2024-25 Nigeria Premier Football League season starts.
Mallam Bolakale Mogaji, the head of the state sports commission, shared this news while talking to reporters in Ilorin.
Mogaji denied some stories that said the Stadium got damaged because of a political rally.
Not long ago, the DAILY POST said that the Ilorin Township Stadium and six other stadiums need upgrades, as suggested by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Mogaji explained, “Anyone who has been in Kwara for the last four years would know that the Kwara State Stadium’s main area wasn’t used for political rallies.”
He also said, “Kwara State Stadium has one of the best playing fields in the country.
“It’s normal for some parts of the stadium to need fixing at the end of a season. That’s all the league officials are saying.”
