The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) says it did not send any letter to the Senate about the Federal Government causing problems in Kano State.

Recently, there has been a conflict over leadership in the Kano Emirate. On June 24, Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, who used to be the NNPP National Chairman, wrote a letter to the Senate. He said that the Federal Government’s agents were causing trouble in Kano State.

The letter was titled “Need for NNPP Federal Lawmakers to Make Urgent and Concerted Efforts to Immediately End the Siege on Kano State by Agents of the Federal Government” and was sent to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

But on Friday, the current NNPP National Chairman, Dr. Agbo Major, said the letter was not authorized by the party leaders.

He explained, “Boniface Aniebonam is the founder of the NNPP. He holds the party’s registration certificate and is the chairman of the board of trustees. He is also a life member of the board.

Dr. Agbo Major is the current national chairman and Mr. Oginni Sunday is the national secretary.

The NNPP believes that the leadership issue in the Kano Emirate is a local matter for the people of Kano State to solve according to their culture and traditions.

We think it’s wrong for political parties to get involved in this situation. Our party’s main goals are to promote peace, help the society develop, and make life better for all Nigerians,” Dr. Major said.
