On Monday, the State House recognized and rewarded 38 State House employees from various departments for their hard work and rewarding dedication to duty.
The awards were divided into two categories: senior staff and junior staff.

At the ceremony, an administrative officer of the Department of Transport, Innocent Ekhobhiye, won the Vice President’s award of one million naira for productivity.
The Permanent Secretary, State House, Olufunso Adebiyi, has announced that among the eight Permanent Secretaries recently appointed into the Federal Civil Service by President Bola Tinubu, three are from the State House Clinic.
He noted that this appointment is a testament to the high level of commitment and dedication of the State House staff.

The new permanent secretaries of the State House are: Obi Vitalis, Keshinro Ismaila and Emanso Okop.
At the Staff Recognition/Productivity/Award Ceremony, the Permanent Secretary reiterated the State House Administration’s commitment to recognise and reward staff members who demonstrate hard work, dedication to duty and added value in service delivery.

He stated that the reward system was a means of encouragement and motivation for the rest of the staff to strive for excellence.

Mr Adebiyi promised continuous training and retraining of staff, adding that under the State House digitalisation programme, all staff members would receive necessary training to improve service delivery.
“We have already trained no less than 500 employees in the digitalisation programme and in the coming days all staff from the 8th grade onwards will receive additional training in groups of 50.
“We have just completed our staff defence at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and it went extremely well.
“Better training and better benefits are coming, but better services are required from you.
Mr Adebiyi also asked staff to take their health very seriously as their productivity depends largely on it.
“The State House Medical Centre is highly rated among the health care centres of the Ministries and Departments in the country. Please, let us take care of our health. Why do we have to face avoidable health problems? Let us take advantage of the health facilities that are available to us, and we have them,” the Permanent Secretary advised the staff.
Deputy Chief of Staff Ibrahim Hadejia congratulated the awardees and expressed the gratitude of the State House Directorate for the invaluable contributions of each staff member.
He explained that the financial reward from the Office of the Vice President was intended to further incentivize staff to add value to their work schedules.

“It’s wonderful to get to know the men and women who are part of the backroom and running of the State House. Most of the time, only the political appointees are visible, but those who do the heavy lifting behind the scenes are neither known nor acknowledged.
“I thank the Permanent Secretary for creating this opportunity for staff to be recognised, and I trust that this is something we can do from time to time to keep them encouraged and motivated.
“We really appreciate the work you’re doing at State House,” he said.
After the 38 honorees received their certificates and a wrapped gift from the State House, each selected a wrapped note from a basket.
The staff member who chose the note with “yes” won the N1 million prize.
