Police question Mohbad’s father over Oba Elegushi’s petition

Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, had a recent interview with an anonymous London-based blogger, which got him into more trouble.

On Monday, officers of the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos State, questioned him over a petition filed by a famous Lagos monarch, Oba Saheed Elegushi.

The Punch newspaper quoted the head of Aloba’s legal team, Monisola Odumosu, as saying that the police questioned him for cyberstalking, cyberstalking and criminal defamation.

Mrs Odumosu stated that the request came after Mr Aloba’s recent interview.

It read in part: “During the interview, Mr. Aloba conceded to the London-based blogger (name not mentioned), who allegedly said: ‘…his son was intimidated and killed at the instruction of Oba Elegushi and that he was such a Sam. Larry who was sent to do the job…’”

Elegushi has since dissociated himself from Sam Larry (Naira Marley’s partner) and refuted the allegation that he fathered Liam (Mohbad’s son) in a statement.

On Sunday, Aloba, on his official TikTok account, revealed that a petition about him was circulating online, although he claimed he had not yet been officially notified.

Mohbad’s father, who accepted the invitation on Monday, expressed his determination to uncover the truth about his son’s death.

“The matter is being investigated by the Nigerian Police, Zone 2. I find it incredible that such a petition is circulating online. “I continue to learn from the support of citizens in general to achieve justice,” he stated.

Mohbad died on September 12, 2023 and was exhumed for an autopsy to be performed to find out the cause of his death.

Although an autopsy could not determine the cause of his death, his father insisted that justice be served before burying him.

In a recent appearance on Oyinmomo TV, he claimed to know his son’s killers and said he would point them out after DNA was carried out on Liam, his grandson.

However,

Justice for Mohbad

The Aloba family lawyer said Aloba clarified that he had no intention to defame or engage in cyberbullying or cyberbullying against Oba Elegushi, but was simply seeking justice for his late son.

Odumosu noted that Mohbad’s father further clarified that he lacked evidence to support the allegations against the monarch apart from Mohbad’s written petition and his telephone conversations.

According to Odumosu, Oba Elegushi, who was present at the meeting, demanded a retraction from Mohbad’s father.

“To be fair to Oba Elegushi, he only demanded the retraction of the defamatory statements made by Mr Aloba on social media. Mr. Aloba was never arrested or detained. He was granted free bail without stress. It is important to note that Mr. Aloba is still mourning the death of his son. He just lost a single star in the family firmament.

“Any grieving parent can, on the spur of the moment, make statements that may tend to be unreasonable. We just need to understand the geographical circumstances that gave rise to his statements.”
