Multi-award winning musical powerhouse Yemi Alade has announced her sixth album ‘Rebel Queen’ and her tenth musical project to her numerous fans.
He also revealed details of the upcoming album in an interview with PREMIUM TIMES in Lagos on Friday.
Yemi said: “I am a true rebel in words and actions. Many albums tend to have monotony in genre and style, which often bores me easily. This album is a mix of what makes up my playlist right now: new and old pop music that transcends generations and borders. I am generally known as someone who has consistently charted my course and taken the road less traveled.
“Rebel Queen has something new, old and borrowed. “I want to emphasize that each song is unique and a capsule of my thoughts and melodies and a lot of nostalgia.”
The singer, who recorded the theme song for the 2024 African Cup of Nations alongside some of Africa’s leading musicians, also spoke about the album’s tracklist and what her fans should expect.
She said: “It is a 16 track album that takes you through the sounds of Africa at different tempos and rhythms with collaborations from some of your favorite artists from different parts of the world. The album covers femininity, style, dance, motivation, liberation and consciousness.”
