I have been sidelined and betrayed by those in Kannywood whom I supported.

Kannywood star Adam Zango has expressed his disappointment at being sidelined by individuals he assisted in achieving success in the film and music industry over the past 20 years.

In a nine-minute video released on Monday, Mr Zango accused numerous top actors, musicians, and producers, whom he claimed to have supported in their rise to stardom, of neglecting him and pretending they had no previous knowledge of him.

The distraught actor shed tears in the video as he mentioned the names of prominent actors and singers he had aided but who had failed to show appreciation.

He stated, “I have played a significant role in the success of Fati Nijar, Sadiq Sani Sadiq, Falalu Dorayi, Zainab Indomie, Tahir I Tahi, Nazifi Asnanic, Ado Gwanja, and others. All these actors have excelled in the industry, yet none of them have ever returned to express gratitude.”

He went on to accuse his colleagues in Kannywood of being hypocritical and unappreciative.

“Kannywood is filled with deceit and ingratitude. People in the industry only use you for their benefit. I know those I have supported and how many individuals are celebrated in the industry. I have financially supported some to advance their careers, personally trained others to become stars, and gifted cars to seven actors in Kannywood. Additionally, more than ten support staff and young actors have benefited from my motorcycle donations.”

“I have never publicly complained; I only expected loyalty and solidarity. However, the reality is different. None of these individuals has ever stood up for me or shown any support. Instead, they engage in negative behavior towards me,” Zango lamented.

Apologies

Singer and actress Fati Nijar posted a video of herself speaking in Hausa, apologizing to the actor and expressing regret over his perception of her.

“I apologize for your current situation. As you’ve mentioned, you are my senior and a key figure in my career. I regret that you feel this way about me. I will visit you personally to offer my apologies,” Fati stated.

Ali Jita also sent an apology to Mr Zango, which was shared on his official Instagram page. Jita acknowledged Zango’s kindness and assistance, expressing remorse for the current situation. He promised to visit the actor and apologize on behalf of all Kannywood musicians.

Ali Nuhu, the Chairperson of the Nigeria Film Cooperation and a close associate of Mr Zango, urged the actor to remain calm. In a social media post, Mr Nuhu reassured that Zango is expressing his concerns and will overcome them, highlighting Zango’s positive attributes.

Adam Zango is recognized as one of the most prominent Kannywood actors of the past two decades, having starred in numerous successful movies and received accolades in the industry. He is also known for his controversial nature, having been involved in conflicts with various actors and actresses in the past.
