The security forces under the Safe Haven (OPSH) operation have successfully neutralized an alleged bandit and an armed thief in two separate operations in the areas of the local government of Wase and Bokkos of the State of Plateau.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday in Jos by Major Samson Zhakom, OPSH's media officer.
He said the operations, carried out on March 24, 2025, were part of a broader strategy to eliminate criminal threats in the region.
According to Zhakom, the troops carried out an authorization operation in Kampani Zurak, Wase Lga, where they got involved and eliminated an alleged bandit linked to a criminal network that operates in Wase and Taraba State.
The same day, the security forces intervened in an armed robbery incident along the Bokkos -Richa road after receiving a call of anguish.
Upon arrival, the troops hired the assailants in a shooting, dominating them with upper fire power.
A suspect was neutralized, while the rest managed to escape, suffering injuries in the process.
An AK-47 rifle from the scene was recovered, and security agents have launched a monitoring operation to locate the criminals fleeing.
